Chia Seeds
Chia seeds have been touted as super food. But the omega-3 benefit is diminished because it is in the form of EPA, which is not easily converted in the body to the more protective forms. Like many other seeds, Chia contains lots of calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium, but it also contains a chemical called phytic acid which holds on to these minerals.
Probably the biggest benefit of chia seeds is the fibre content. The fibre will be great for your gut bacteria, so it's a great idea to incorporate a little chia into your eating programme.
